8-12

Postby catching zzz's » Sat Aug 12, 2017 5:08 pm

Tried this morning from 6:30-12:30 and got skunked. Fished 70-130fow without a bump. Heard of a couple steelhead caught in 110-130 but we sure didn't find any. Sure hope this mid-summer lull ends soon.

So now that we are past mid August... do you think that 110 fow + is still the way to go if I am looking for Steelies? I tend to always target the deeper water anytime in the summer but wasn't sure about late August?

Overnighting this weekend with my 11 year old little girl and hoping to drag some baits! It's been awhile but I am looking forward to it!

Wish I had a good answer for you. Steelhead have been avoiding my boat lately for some reason. All the ones I've been hearing of being caught lately are still 110+. But that can change daily. Good luck getting your girl on some fish. Not sure yet if I'll be out there or if I'm headed up north.

Got bird hunting and youth hunt to get out of the way before I can start thinking Oct 1st :) . Everything is going by so fast this year. Got a place up north and can barely find time to get up there. Hoping to at least go and get the grass cut. This work crap is really starting to get in the way of my fun :?
